America gets water!

I propose that our government spend billions of dollars building canals all across America.

Then, when one area is flooding, the water could be diverted to the dry areas, and when one area gets too much snow it could be piled up near the canals to melt later, and thus be transported where needed.

This mass movement of water would allow everyone to have the water when they need it.

And, it would put millions of people to work. this would give our economy a shot like the transcontinental railroad did in the 1800's.

Okay, maybe it's a crazy idea, but...

Water would only have to be pumped to the continental divides, and then diverted to areas of need.
